Manu Katché / Toto
Monday 08 July 2024 - 20:30
Festival
Jazz / Blues / Gospel
1st part Manu Katché / 2nd part Toto

Manu Katché :
Some musicians defy classification, for fear of disturbing the fainthearted. Manu Katché has this gift, being capable of combining all influences and adapting to all styles. Having initially received classical training, Manu’s "Katché sound" makes his drumming unique to the ears of informed music lovers. That same drumming was to lead him away from classic, to jazz then to pop-rock.

Toto :
Over the past decade, TOTO has had a major renaissance in popularity; no statistic demonstratesthis better than achieving the milestone of over 3.4
billion streams on Spotify or the total plays, across all platforms, now approaching five billion. The members of group, individually and collectively can be heard on an astonishing 5000 albums and, together, have amassed a sales history of a half a billion albums and hundreds of Grammy nominations. They are pop culture and one of the few 70’s bands that have endured the changing
trends and styles while continuing to remain relevant.

Laufey / Selah Sue
Tuesday 09 July 2024 - 20:30
Festival
Jazz / Blues / Gospel
1st part : Laufey / 2nd part :Selah Sue

Laufey is a 24-year-old Los Angeles-based singer, composer, producer and multi-
instrumentalist whose jazz songs are about young love and self-discovery.
Raised between Reykjavík and Washington, D.C. with annual visits to Beijing, the
Icelandic-Chinese artist grew up playing cello as well as piano and became hooked
on the jazz standards of Ella Fitzgerald after digging through her father’s record
collection.

Selah Sue is one of the pillars of the current Belgian scene. Her third
album Persona marks an artistic renewal, while offering a constant: her characteristic voice, at once full of warm soul and pierced by blues cracks. This sunny tone alone encases all the personalities of the singer, starting with her optimism, her explosive energy and surges of feverishness capable of electrifying whole crowds, but also her maturity, her modesty, her innermost frailties, her spellbinding charm.

Tiken Jah Fakoly

established major artist of international fame. Attracting hundreds of thousands of spectators at his concerts in Africa, he is famous for his explosive stage

Youssou n'Dour
From an early age, Youssou N’Dour preferredmusic over studying and so his father, resigned to this, enrolled him at the Institute of Arts in Dakar. In 1979, with his band Étoile de Dakar (Star of Dakar), Youssou N’Dour launched a new dance (the "ventilator") which became all the rage in the clubs of the Senegalese capital and he became, from that moment, the new and unrivalled ambassador of Senegalese music. At the age of 24, Youssou set out to conquer Europe. In Paris, he performed the opening act for Jacques Higelin at the music festival
« Printemps de Bourges » and in Bercy, then in 1987, he did the same for Peter Gabriel at Madison Square Garden in New York. The following year, he took part in the world tour of Amnesty international Human Rights Now.

Festival
Jazz / Blues / Gospel
1st part : El Comiite / 2nd part : Avishai Cohen Banda Iroko

El Comite
Considered as a real all-star band of Cuban musicians of their generation, El Comité
comprises 7 real gems. Starting with the two pianists Harold Lopez-Nussa and Rolando Luna, both winners of the piano solo competition in Montreux.
The impressive rhythm section, consisting of Gaston Joya on bass/double bass and Rodney Barreto on drums, carries El Comité’s groove to different shores with precision and talent. Yaroldy Abreu Robles, a great international talent on percussions of all kinds, makes up the third essential mainstay of this incredible rythym section.

Cohen Banda Iroko
Over the last twenty-five years internationally acclaimed bassist, singer, composer Avishai Cohen, has grown to be one of the heavyweights of contemporary jazz, with a catalogue to rival even the most legendary musicians. His captivating live performances, unique sound and musical statement are now extensively known
throughout every corner of the world, attracting large live audiences, listeners and passionate fans. Cohen music has shaped and influenced many. This new project, launched in 2023 based on his album ‘Iroko’ created with Abraham Rodrigues Jnr. is inspired and derived from traditions rooted in Afro Caribbean music. Alongside him on stage are some of the very first musicians he performed with, back in the 90’s, within the small club scene in downtown NYC.

Adi Oasis / Pink Martini
Friday 12 July 2024 - 20:30
Festival
Jazz / Blues / Gospel
1st part : Adi Oasis / 2nd part : Pink Martini

Adi Oasis
The French-Caribbean singer-producer (now based in Brooklyn) recently released
her new full-length album, Lotus Glow, combining soaring vocals, spectacular bass
prowess and masterful production. The album, which features an eclectic range of guests including KIRBY, Leven Kali, Jamila Woods and Aaron Taylor, is Adi’s most personal work to date – and also her most political. For Adi, the political themes are unavoidable.

Pink Martini
Pink Martini no longer need any introduction, especially since the phenomenal worldwide success of their album "Sympathique"featuring their hit song "Je ne veux pas travailler", an ode to idleness raised to an art form. For around thirty years, this leading Portland band has been touring all over the world, whispering into our ears
the rococo-kitsch-Latin orchestral universe which it embraces. Unclassifiable, timeless, singing in more than twenty languages, Pink Martini is a real juke-box of multicultural influences with retro, Latin and jazz sounds, and listeners never tire of their mambos, cha-chacha and other Technicolor® sambas.

Belmondo Dead Jazz / Chris Potter, Brad Mehldau, John Patitucci and Johnathan Blake
Saturday 13 July 2024 - 20:30
Festival
Jazz / Blues / Gospel
1st part : Belmondo Dead Jazz / 2nd Part : Chris Potter, Brad Mehldau, John Patitucci and Johnathan Blake

Belmondo Dead Jazz
Less a tribute than an interpretation, less a rereading than a resurrection, Deadjazz revives the music of the Grateful Dead, the legendary band of the psychedelic years.
Drawing on a cult repertoire and supported by musicians who have forged unfailing ties with the Belmondo brothers over the decades, this collective project is akin to
an immersion in a crucial moment in the history of music: when jazz was electrified by the rhythms of rock and rock freed itself from the shackles of song through improvisation.

Chris Potter, Brad Mehldau, John Patitucci and Johnathan Blake
Chris Potter has established himself as a towering figure in the global jazz scene, renowned for his profound impact and innovation as a saxophonist. With a career marked by technical mastery and a bold, imaginative approach to composition and improvisation,Potter’s versatility and creativity have not only earned him
critical acclaim but have also influenced a generation of musicians. His new studio album, "Eagle’s Point", released on Edition Records, stands as a testament to his brilliance, as a composer, instrumentalist and bandleader, uniting four
unparalleled luminaries of the genre, Brad Mehldau, John Patitucci and Brian Blade. For the tour, Johnathan Blake will replace Brian Blade on drums.

Erik Truffaz / Sofiane Pamart
Monday 15 July 2024 - 20:30
Festival
Jazz / Blues / Gospel
1st part : Erik Truffaz /2nd part : Sofiane Pamart

Erik Truffaz - Rollin' & Clap !
How ‘bout another film? After Rollin’, here’s Truffaz again with Clap!, the second instalment in his cinema stories, repeating the miracle of substituting his own images for those conjured up by the original soundtracks. Or, as director Bruno Nuyten puts it: "Beyond the memories of the films that are mentioned, Erik Truffaz’s interpretation opens the imagination to other films that have never been
made". Nicely put. To rewrite the script of our lives, Truffaz has assembled
a troupe of born actors, starring the seismic Marcello Giuliani, with whom he has produced the album.

Sofiane Pamart
Sofiane Pamart delivers LETTER, the second album of his solo career, which is every bit as powerful as a high-level classical music album, refined and virtuoso. His message is positive and expresses profound recognition, his musical flavour is the continuation of what made Sofiane Pamart’s fame: a sweet melancholy, pieces balanced between being open to all while of a technical nature which is never spontaneous. The album has an intimist, evening ambience. It recounts the adventures of a pianist explorer, a plunge within oneself, the boundless view from
the roof of a building that brushes the sky, the immense red-orange sun
of Southern Asia, the secrets of a seafaring captain on a mission, the great
themes of cinematographic epics, shooting stars, the atmosphere of a worrying crime novel, the character of a human being both hypersensitive and mysterious, torments transformed into poetry, loneliness at last soothed by tenderness

At first calling themselves the Jazziacs, the band went through various names before officially launching in 1969 with the release of their self-titled debut album “Kool & the Gang”. Awards, seven American Music Awards, 25 Top Ten R&B hits, 9 Top Ten Pop hits and 31 gold and platinum albums. In 2015, the band was honored to take their place as American musical icons with a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame.
